Peter, unless the manufacturers specify a \$\pm\$ for their ESR, I would consider those two values as equal. Also, a lower ripple spec might be all it takes to specify just that much longer lifespan for the exact same capacitor. I would not know, being ignorant, but check out Ripple Current Effect on Lifetime for some thoughts to consider. So I'm not sure how to compare the two, even if it was only a matter of a classroom question and not for a specific application such as yours.
